On Winners and Losers
Every four years we watch athletes in their peak form compete at the summer Olympics in a myriad of different events. They’ve trained their entire lives for a brief moment of greatness in a game with set rules and outcomes with the hope of getting gold.
Outside of that single occurrence, however, life is anything but a game with a concrete end result (other than death). There is no logic that determines who is a winner or a loser. It all really depends on that person’s interpretation of their existence.
This is why it’s so important to focus on your own joy rather than trying to win life. This is why teams that work together accomplish so much more than teams where humans endlessly compete with and undermine each other to “win”. This is why companies that focus on the big picture and stick to their original purpose last the longest.
